Discovery BIO GFC New!
Discovery BIO GFC phases perform size exclusion separations over a wide molecular weight range, from small biomolecules to virus particles. By eliminating non-specific adsorption, the unique hydrophilic surface treatment and ultra high-purity silica combine to allow reproducibly high recovery of active proteins. Discovery BIO GFC is available in 5 µm spherical particles with pore sizes from 100 to 2000 Å for high separation capacity. The narrow pore and particle size distributions ensure high column efficiency and reproducibility.
 
Discovery BIO PolyMA-SCX
Efficient, high-recovery polymer-based cation-exchange columns for protein and peptide separations.
 
Discovery BIO PolyMA-WAX
Efficient, high-recovery polymer-based anion-exchange columns for protein and peptide separations.
 
Discovery BIO Wide Pore C5
Similar retention but increased stability compared to C4 with excellent, no bleed properties for LC-MS. Used for proteins and hydrophobic peptides.

Discovery BIO Wide Pore C8
Intermediate hydrophobicity between a C4/C5 and C18 makes it a great starting point for peptide method development. Used for peptides and small proteins.
 
Discovery BIO Wide Pore C18
The most hydrophobic BIO Wide Pore phase. Excellent for synthetic and natural peptides and peptide mapping.

Peptide Separations on a Stable, Aqueous-Compatible C18 Column

Most C18 HPLC columns undergo phase collapse in 100% aqueous mobile phases with concomitant loss of retention. This causes a problem when trying to analyze very polar compounds. This Technical Bulletin describes how Discovery BIO Wide Pore C18 columns do not undergo phase collapse, and can be used in 100% aqueous conditions. The implications for polar peptides and peptides mapping is described.
